Yup. That's right, I said it. Old people really are stuffy and no fun. Pretty much every older person I have met (with a few exceptions of course) are stuffy and boring and when someone does something they don't like that kill it. Fun wreckers. The crazy thing is that I have two examples from today alone. Yeah. That's pretty bad in my opinion.
The first one was the fire inspector guy. Apparently he has to come check the barn before the city slicker summer camp starts. Let's just say this guy was the most pretentious prick I have ever seen/met. Nothing seemed to be up to par for him and he was super annoying. Someone was charging a phone in one of the outlets in the barn. Now there are sixteen stalls in the barn and there is an outlet for every stall. Every stall also has a fan and sometimes these fans are plugged in and running all night. And he FLIPPED about a cell phone charging. Uh, get of your high horse and go bother someone else. Then I walked by and he was like, "Was that your cell phone?" No, it wasn't, but if it had been I probably would have told the guy off. Seriously, having sixteen fans run over night is okay, but a cell phone isn't? We had all those fans running last year and the barn didn't burn down. I don't know what the hell his problem was but it pissed me off.
The other stuffy adult was a woman who used to be at out barn but left because of arguments and because she's a rich snobby bitch. Yeah, can you tell I am a little heated? Well this woman flipped out at my other barn friend about him using formspring and how she didn't like it and wanted him to take it down and he was like no and this is the reason why. And believe me he had a really good level-headed reason, and she was all disappointed in him and when I defended him she was like blah blah blah you don't understand. Talk to me in 20 years. Yeah, like that is going to happen. In 20 years she probably won't remember (oh wait, she probably will because she has no life) and at that point she will be obsolete. When she mentioned about it not being appropriate for younger kids, all I could think of was, then younger kids either should not view it, view it and understand how life works, or shouldn't be on facebook altogether. Let's just say this woman's bratty little daughter is 11 and on facebook. Yeah. Bad parenting. Her kid is a spoiled brat who has a $5000 saddle and $2000 boots. Yeah. These are the pretentious asses I deal with.
Sorry for my rant but I was angry and needed to say something. I am going to go back to working on my hat. The one I just completed came out too big. AGAIN. I seriously don't understand why either. Oh well. I'm trying again. I am going to make it work. Somehow. My back is also killing me. I have mid-back and low-back pain now and I am just miserable. I don't know what this is, but I am so uncomfortable doing anything that I don't want to ride my horse or go to the gym and those are the things I love most. We will see how my lesson goes tomorrow. This should be interesting.

I am the Michelin Man! He's Delusional...
So tonight I ended up watching my favorite show ever for dinner. Wipeout on ABC. You have no idea how much that show makes me laugh. Between the wipeouts and the comments people say it's priceless. One guy was on today was called the Renaissance man and spoke in prose. Epic! Here are some of the memorable quotes of the day.
This is awkward.
Yeah, I apologize.
You're so refined!
BELCH!
Oh...
Morticians Rule!!
No! I don't want to go in the water!
I don't know why I'm doing this. I must be a moron. Here it goes!
Thanks for the chocolate in my eyes.
TAKE IT GORILLA!!! (oh Renaissance man!)
It's going to hit me isn't it?
I got foam in my eye!!
HAVE SOME CAPULETS! (this is why the Renaissance man is just plain awesome)
To wipeout or to not wipeout. That is the question. Ye! (YAY! Renaissance man!)
I am the Michelin Man!
He's delusional.
Very well spikes. The choice is yours.
Yes. This is why I love the show so much. It is just so random and spontaneous and I get to see people get flipped and thrown into water. It makes life so very special! Well, I am back to editing my writings. It's going okay. I am still struggling, but I am making some progress. Hopefully I will get it done and have it be better for the group in three weeks time. I hope so at least!

It's Got Potential! Brag About it!
Today we finally had the first writer's group meeting in probably about five or six weeks. We have been having problems meeting and such but today me, Kelly and Jaci managed it and it was one of the most rewarding things for me. We looked at the "edited" first chapter of my story. It's a lot better from the previous two edits but there is still a lot of work to do. It has incredible potential and with editing and polishing and tons of feedback it is going to be the best it can possibly be. I have quite a bit of fixing to do. Here is just some of it.
1. While I have fixed my over use of adverbs by drastically cutting them out, I now have problems with my usage of semi-colons. How I love the semi-colon!
2. Fragmented sentences. While they aren't all bad (many of them are used as thoughts and really made my writing believable), there are far too many of them in my dialogue and that is confusing.
3. I have great details. I have an overload of details.
4. Need to find more wolfy verbs instead of human ones.
5. Point of view. Who the heck are we looking at now????
6. How many times can I say "topaz golden eyes" in one chapter? About 18.
There are more but I am a little overwhelmed. I'll find more. It's just going to take a lot of editing and loving of my chapter.
It doesn't help that Mrs. Caloutus has forever scarred me and my confidence as a writer. I still see that woman's face in my dreams. While she taught me a lot and my writing improved, she has also hindered me as a writer. I have to learn to embrace and love what I write. I can do it.
I also am now a library card holder again! I haven't had one for over four years! I got books for research on my story. And got hit on by the guy helping me. Sorry, bud, but this gal is taken!
The other big thing I did today was go over to Jocelyn's house and work on the etsy page and all of the items we have for sale. Today she used me as a model and we took pictures of scarves (some that I did and some that she did) to go on the page for sale. It was so cool to be used as a model! And let's just say Jocelyn is a natural with her amazing camera, tripod, and plethora of other accessories that she used to get the pictures. Her use of lighting is amazing. Especially when she used candles to make her jewelry and doilies stand out. We are hoping to get more people aware of our site and spread the news on to others. We have some incredible stuff and have sold orders around the U.S., Canada and even Italy! It's a lot of fun! Jocelyn's boyfriend is working on an ad for us and I am going to stick it on my blog and see if I can get my friend Abby to put something on hers. The more people know about us the more we can spread our handmade stuff around!
My first scarf got uploaded to the site tonight and I am really proud of it! I can't want to work on more stuff and I plan to do a Harry Potter scarf and hat theme for the winter time! But for now I will include the website so others can take a look!

Well, I am off to knit and edit my story and talk to the boyfriend!

It's Poisoned! Run Away!
So I have only played Crockett once in my entire life, and it was not explained to me. Well after playing with Jaci and her cousins it was fabulous. Even though I thought I was doing terrible at it I ended up almost winning. Funny how things turn out. I am going to have to invest in a Crockett set at some point. I had a lot of fun with it. All in all Jaci's grad/birthday party was awesome. I love hanging out with everyone and her family is awesome and funny. I think the best part of Crockett though was when someone made it through the course and back and then became poisoned, because then it was survive and run for as long as possible. Oh the joys of the game!
Something else interesting happened tonight while I was at my grandma's house. Kyle was texting back and forth with me and we pretty much decided to make it official between the two of us. I have been wondering when this was coming. Even though it was through texting, I know he is probably just as nervous about the whole thing as me so I am kind of okay with it. It gives me time to think instead of being like uh ummm uh every other word because that is what I do. This will be my second boyfriend ever and I really hope things go better with him than with Andrew. I don't need this one to end badly. We will just have to see where life takes me.
Tomorrow I am going to get to the gym, take the dog to the vet, writers group at 2pm and then hopefully seeing and riding the horse before going over to Jocelyn's house to work on etsy stuff. Such a busy day, but I can do it!

El Buzzo
Today was an incredible day that was wrapped up incredibly. Yes. That's pretty much all I can say about it. Today was the jewelry party that has been in the works for a year. It went off very well and Jocelyn and I were very pleased with our results. While we had less people that last time show up, we ended up getting pretty much a $1000 show. That means more free jewelry and more benefits for the two of us. When all of this is over and I eventually get all of the jewelry I am seriously not going to know what to do with myself. Right now I have so much jewelry that I don't have room in my jewelry box. I am going to have to get a bigger one.
After that I went home and ended up getting food with my family before going to see Toy Story 3 again. I love that movie so much, especially Spanish Buzz. That just makes me all sorts of happy! Now I am going to collapse somewhere, look at jewelry to get and go back to reading my very addicting romance novel!

A Salad is Healthy Until You Put Cheese on It
That was the comment that my roommate heard while she was getting salad at the salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays tonight. I had a lot of fun hanging out with Jeanette tonight. I haven't seen her and hung out with her for a decent amount of time in a while so we decided to get food at the Manchester mall and then wandered around the mall and looked at stuff and tried on shirts and headbands. It's so much fun hanging out with her because you never know what is going to happen!
Tomorrow is the Jewelry party and I am very excited! I got my friend Erica to come and I am hoping that my mom and sister at least come for a little bit. I was chatting with Jocelyn and she was trying to get a hold of Donna to finalize things. I hope it all works out and things go off without a hitch tomorrow. Besides, I love the thought of free jewelry! Tomorrow she will get the full details about what went down with me and Kyle. She was happy to know that no clothes came off. But was not happy over the fact that we are still not official after everything that has happened so far. I think we might be sending her boyfriend Christian after him since they are best friends. We will just have to see.
Well, off for now. Probably either cross-stitching, reading or knitting. And waiting for cookie dough to be made!!

Mom is Going to Kill Me

Alrighty. I am behind a bit in my blogging, but that's what happens when I don't come home till 3am and the windows have been going in all week. But I will chat about yesterday for a bit. My sister and I had a lesson on our horses (well, my sister used a school horse since hers is still recovering). The lesson went well and we talked about shows and showing a bit, so that was exciting. Since my sister's saddle was broken she used our instructors Devoucoux. Let's just say this is a custom saddle, uber comfortable and costs over $4000. It's amazing to ride in. After watching my sister ride around in it, my instructor and I both agreed. My sister's position was perfect. She has been fighting her saddle all this time. That means her saddle doesn't fit her and because it doesn't, its hurting her position and she has to work fifty times harder to stay where she is supposed to be. As Gail put it, it was a good thing her saddle broke. Ali looks at me and says the words I was thinking in my head. "Mom is going to kill me."
Well, Mom didn't exactly kill her, but she wasn't pleased by this development. The saddle went into to get fixed because of the stirrup things being broken and because the tree was crooked. Which means the whole saddle was crooked because the tree is pretty much the base support of the entire saddle. Oh joy. I think what she is going to try and do is trade in her saddle and see if she can use that money or something towards a new one. My mom is less than thrilled.
Last night I ended up going out to Buffalo Wild Wings with Kyle and a whole bunch of the others in their group. We had a good time and I seemed to fit in really well with everyone which is always good. After dinner we all went to the beach to look at the water and such. The moon was almost full and it was incredible. Then Kyle and I went back to his house where we left my car and hung out and watched TV (or didn't watch it). I didn't get back home till almost 3am. Yup. It was a great night. I still don't know what the two of us are since I was too busy and preoccupied to ask him myself, but Jocelyn will be happy to know that he introduced me as just Laura instead of "my friend" Laura. That's all good. No killing will be necessary. Yet!

YAY! I Made Art!
My day has been absolutely fantastic. And yes, that was sarcasm. After taking the shades off my window last night I tacked up sheets (Disney ones to be exact) and, after inhaling so much dust that I became sick, I went to bed to see how late I would be able to sleep in. At 555am I woke up to find my room brighter than it has ever been. God, how I missed my light blocking shades. I probably slept on and off and very fitfully after that. At 830am the doorbell rings and the guy has arrived to install the windows. What fun. He started in the living room and my sister and I crashed in the kitchen. After grabbing breakfast and reading in the kitchen for a while I decided to go back to my room and read in my bed. I then took a very nice nap. I love naps. The rest of the day was spent trapped inside my house with the window guy. He was very nice and the windows are gorgeous, but it was disconcerting when I stuck my head out of the hole in the second story bedroom and looked down.
Eventually, the windows were installed and the window guy left. My sister and I then ventured out the the Equestrian Centre in Avon to get my bit looked at for my horse as well as to look at half chaps. I left after spending almost $200 dollars. I reluctantly bought half chaps. And let's just say my bit only cost $2 to replace the hooks. Yeah. Let's say that was a much needed splurge. Why does horse stuff have to be so expensive? The half chaps were very nice to ride in so I can't say anything. They will last me years.
I was feeling like a fat ass today and sad over my lack of going to the gym, so I did some exercise videos. Pilates for Dummies as well as the Bender Method for Core and Strong Healthy Back. My body hurts now. If I do Pilates everyday it will be better for my back and core and will improve my riding. Hopefully. We will have to see that one.
Tomorrow is my riding lesson in my crazy bit that has two reins. I've used it with my horse before but it is intimidating as hell. After that I might come home and do some Pilates and Yoga and take a shower. Maybe I'll pick up my ring before I go out with Kyle. I'm supposed to be meeting the group since this was the only day that the two of us could get together. It should be interesting. Well, I am going to find some pants and sleep for a bit.
Title Explanation: My sister is going over her friend's house on Saturday and sleeping over. Her friend is bringing clay and hemp and stated that five minutes after giving it to her, it would be on the ceiling and she would point and say "YAY! I made art!" Oh how I love my sister.

The Schoolbus has two Stop Signs. They Be Rich!
Today my sister and I went on a road trip to drop some fliers off at tack stores in the state. Well, the three tack stores we were going to happened to be in Newtown, Danbury and Ridgefield. They happen to be uber far away from where we live. So it was pretty much an all day adventure. The first one we went to was Ridgefield. It was a really cute little tack store that reminded me of the one that I go to all the time. We dropped off the fliers and I ended up getting some show clothes for myself for the showing season since I own only the bottom half. After that we went on to Danbury. On the way there the head of the program got a hold of us and told us she wanted us to drop fliers off at Old Salem Farm in New York. So after finding out that the place in Danbury does not exist we went to the farm. Now the two of us have been there before, but only when they were putting on a big show. We drive up to the place and are met with huge white imposing gates. All rich people have gates. It's just the norm I guess. Well we drive up and are like omg we need a passcode. Apparently not since when we drove up they opened automatically. Even though the two of us were terrified out of our minds to be on such a farm we were glad they had signs and made it to the show office where they took the fliers and thanked us. While we were in New York we got stopped by a schoolbus. With two stop signs on it! My sister goes, "They must be rich!"
The last tack store we went to was in Newtown. It took us a bit to get there because the address we had was wrong but we made it, dropped off our fliers and then bolted back down the road where we had seen a Coldstone Creamery. I've never had their ice cream before but it was amazing! They made it right in front of your nose! How much better can you get! Once finished there we drove off to the barn in the rain. We wanted to ride, but it looked like that wasn't going to happen.
Out at the barn we said hi to Gail and showed her my lovely show clothes and now she's excited because we can go to shows and stuff and then me and Ali rode. The two of us jumped on. Ali in western gear in Gail's helmet and me in English tack with no helmet. We rode and had a good time and Grady was actually being really good! Even though I rode with a girl I don't like too much, it was okay. She didn't ride long at all because she was more content to flirt with her boyfriend in front of everyone and soon left. Thursday is our lesson and I will be using a different bit so we will see what goes with all of that.
My room makes me kind of sad right now. It's still kind of a mess and the shades are gone, replaced by disney sheets. Tomorrow morning is not going to be fun.

If Pigs Could Fly My Bacon Would Be Airborne!
Stephen King really amuses me with his funny little sayings every now and then. This one really made me giggle. I think it would be rather amusing if my bacon was airborne. Then I could go hunting! Yes, this is what happens when I have spent all evening cleaning. And believe me. It's been ALL evening. I am so worn out from cleaning that if I never have to do it again I would be the happiest person alive. I am so sick of it and the dust that I keep running across is killing me. I did find forty dollars though so I would say that's a plus.
I finally got my dad to fix my closet doors after I cleaned my closet up and put all of my hoodies and dress pants and shirts in it. I have officially decided that I am not allowed to buy another hoodie again. I counted and I have between 35 and 40 hoodies. That's kind of insane, but then again I am a winter kid and need to stay warm. My closet doors where just off the track so my dad fixed them up pretty fast. I then proceeded to put all of my clothes away and for the first time in like four to six years all of my clothes are away. That's incredible for me! I cleaned out bins underneath my bed and put all my shoes there which is awesome because I had thrown them on the floor of my room last night. There are still a bunch of odds and ends floating around but I think I can manage to put them somewhere before Wednesday. I also discovered today that while the windows are being done, the blinds are getting fixed, which means I wont have ANY blinds on my window. My mom is right. We are going to be living in a fish bowl. This makes me very sad. It's going to be very bright in my room. It's going to be shocking especially since I haven't been able to open my blinds for the last six months or so.
Tomorrow is the final day of cleaning. I can do it. I have to do it. I also have a writer group meeting at 1pm which will be good if I actually finish my edit. That's my goal tonight. I am almost done with it. Ali and I will be taking a road trip to tack stores tomorrow to hang up posters and stuff for Cavalia and I want to drop by the Equestrian Centre in Avon to drop things off for consignment, get prices on a show shirt, jacket and spurs, and get my bit fixed for my horse to use on Thursday. I also have to deposit my pay check and stuff so I has some money. That's always a good thing. I also have to pick up a giant box to pack up things in and put stuff in the attic. If it all gets done for Wednesday it will be a miracle but I think I can manage. I don't know when the window people are coming but it's probably early. Oh well.
Jocelyn yelled at me and told me I wasn't running away from Kyle. So I am going with him on Thursday to Buffalo Wild Wings in Milford and stuff. We will see how that goes. Otherwise I am surviving the trap of my room.

Your Tongue is the Same Color as Your Shirt!
Today was Father's Day and in celebration of that day, we finally got my dad the laptop computer he has been wanting for the longest time. Right now he is down the hall in the living room playing with it and setting everything up. And I am sitting in my room and staring at my room, which is once again a mess and needs to be cleaned. The windows are going in on Wednesday and Thursday and the countdown is officially on. I have to have my room look, well, normal by Wednesday. This might be harder than I thought. Kyle wants to hang out this week and wanted to on Monday or Tuesday. I would, but that involves the whole day and night and nighttime is when I clean because it's when I finally have nothing to do. And right now I doubt my mother will let me leave the house with my room looking the way it does.
I am hedging again. Once again I am confused and unsure about what to think. Kyle likes me a lot. And he does make me happy, but is it really what I want? I know you are probably sick and tired of hearing me do this, but I really don't know. And it's pretty bad that I am also using the windows as an excuse to get out of seeing him again so soon. Even though we aren't official I still think things are happening fast. I just see myself suddenly being tied down by someone and feel the sudden need to run and run far. I can hear everyone around me screaming and telling me I am making a mistake by trying to run, but I just don't know if I can do it. I just don't know. The other thing I am terrified by is that if we do get into a relationship together, that it will end just like it did with me and Andrew. And I don't want to do that to him. Sigh. I wish life was just so much simpler sometimes.
Other than that, the day has been low key with the amusing story of my sister drinking a blue raspberry coollata from Dunkin Donuts and turning her tongue blue which happened to be the same color as her shirt. I also chatted with my instructor and she keeps telling me that I am doing well and that I worry way way way too much. I hope she is right about that. Well, I guess I should go back to cleaning. I will poke some people about my lovely dilemma and see what I can do for myself.

His Left Foot Can Open a Can of Tomatoes!
Let me just tell you. I absolutely love the British. Even at 730am, they can still make me laugh. Yes. I woke up at 730am to watch the Netherlands play soccer against Japan. The reason is that my sister's favorite soccer player Robyn van Persie, plays on the Netherlands team and she wanted to see him play since he has had all sorts of problems with injuries. And guess what the two fo us saw when we turned on the television? Robyn van Persie being pushed to the ground by two Japanese players and then proceeded to crack another Japanese player in the face with his foot. That player was then taken off the field by stretcher. Oh yes. That was excellent! And it go even better when the British announcer said one of the Japanese players had a left foot that could open a can of tomatoes. My morning was made. I then proceeded to sleep through halftime and the second half but they won and that was all that mattered. Then it was off to the barn for a riding lesson.
My lesson went okay. Grady was being cranky and I was having problems but we managed okay. The jumping wasn't great but that is because I really have a mental block when it comes to jumping. It's such a weird fear that seems to take over and I second guess everything I do and find that I am not confident at all. I will have to talk to my instructor about this because maybe there is something the two fo us can do that can help me overcome this irrational fear.
The rest of my day was a wild adventure car ride! But it was all in good fun. I raced home from the barn and picked up a laptop for my dad for father's day, which is tomorrow. I really hope he likes it because he has been wanting one for so long and we just haven't been able to get him one. I then raced home, showered and raced out the door again to go to the Trumbull Mall to pick up Amanda. Her parents were meeting me there instead of me having to come to Stamford which was good because that would have been a long trip. We then piled into my car and drove off to meet Mike and surprise Abby. We just had to get to Lisbon. Neither of us had the address for the movie theater there so we set my GPS for Eastern and went from there. We ended up branching off and took a very long and very pretty scenic route through Connecticut to get to Lisbon, all the while poking my GPS to help us get there by picking towns close to Lisbon. Eventually we were able to get to the movie theater and completely surprised Abby! We were so excited! From there we saw Toy Story 3 and then went to Chili's for dinner and then wandering aimlessly around Target.
Eventually we all had to say goodbye and go our separate ways. Amanda's parents ended up meeting us halfway again and from there I wandered off on my way home. My car now has little gas again but it was all so worth it and I was super happy to have sent the afternoon/evening with them. It's going to be sad seeing Abby and Mike move away, but we will keep in touch through many different means and eventually going to visit them. But for now I am tired and going to collapse somewhere.

Orgy With Seven Girls and One Guy
That is pretty much how a group of my friends describes ourselves. That's pretty much what we are. We always manage to get a large group of us together and have a blast doing everything that a group of college kids and college grads would do. Sometimes there is some wine involved but other than that it's just us and our goofy personalities. I love them tons and it is always amazing when we hang out. And there always seems to be a photo shoot at the end.
I am going to keep this short tonight because I have had a migraine all day and am exhausted. This is what happens when I go to bed at 330am and then wake up at 8am to take my mom to her colonoscopy. After I dropped her off I slept for an hour with my dog then watched soccer. USA vs. Slovenia. Amazing game. Wish I hadn't slept through the second half. The reason I stayed up till 330am yesterday was because I was contacted by Mike from Minnesota. He wanted advice on what to do: go on the trip he planned with his family or stay behind with the girl he "loves." The answer to me is simple. Family comes first and this bimbo whore comes second. Asks for my advice and then doesn't follow it. It's his life and he can screw it up anyway he wants. He is just as stupid now as he was when the two of us fooled around two years ago. Not my problem. Stupid kid.
Tomorrow I am getting up at 730am to watch soccer. The Netherlands are playing and it's my sister's favorite team. Then we have to pick up our riding instructor so we can go to the barn to do our lesson. By then end of tomorrow I am going to be beat. That is all I know. Well, I guess sleep now. I am just so tired.

UCONN Chipmunks

Today I spent the day up at UCONN Storrs with my best friend Jocelyn. She has been living up there for her very last class ever before she goes on to her clinical. She was bored and wanting to go home, so I decided to bring her some cheer. It was funny driving back up in the vicinity of my school. I miss Eastern. Even though I went through hell the last two semesters, I still miss it and all of my friends and all of the good times that we all had. All I know is that even thought it's summer, UCONN had quite a few people wandering around campus and such. Even thought it's a college town it never sleeps.
We spent most of the day wandering around campus and chilling in her dorm room. We chatted about everything but especially about boys and weddings. We had a lot of fun discussing what we want at our weddings like, food, liquor, dresses, flowers and music. Let's just say Jocelyn pretty much has her entire wedding planned out and I give her tons of credit. Honestly I really have no idea what I am going to do for my wedding (if I ever get married that is). We had fun listening to songs that she wants for her wedding. She's got them all picked out. I have one right now. Love me Tender by Elvis. I love that song and would probably dance with my dad with that one. And I think I would have Amazed by Lonestar for my dance with my hubby. I love that song and it always makes me cry, but I think it would be perfect.
On our walk around campus we ran into a tiny little chipmunk that was hopping on a stair eating ants and looking positively cute. We were pretty close to it and he didn't seem to care one way or the other and continued eating ants. We snapped a couple pictures of him before he scampered off and we went and got ready to go out to dinner.
Applebee's was on the menu and we did the 2 for 20 meal. We also ordered drinks. Wine for Jocelyn and a Strawberry Daiquiri for me. Yummy! We ate and ate and ate, and just when we thought we couldn't eat anymore, we ordered a large dessert. Yummy! Surprisingly not too full we headed back to UCONN where it was time to say our goodbyes and go our separate ways again. She was off to do homework and studying and I was off to drive back home and go to the gym. Let's just say I love going to the gym at 8pm. There aren't that many people there and it was rather relaxing. I even go brave enough to try the scary stairmaster of doom! I was also excited to try out my new garage door opener! I haven't had one for four years and boy have I missed it! Now I'm back in business!
Well, I'm off to race and crash some cars with my little sister for a while before I come back here and edit some stuffs and do more cross-stitching!

I Look Like a Vampire Victim
That's right. I look like a vampire had a go at my neck. Why you might ask? Well that's what happens when you make out with someone who likes to bite necks! But before I explain that I will talk about how we got up to that point.
Kyle and I went out on our fourth (?) date. I keep losing track of how many dates we have been on now. We decided to go out to eat and go see a movie instead of staying here at my house. The two of us still aren't official and I think I will hold off on him meeting my family for a bit. Not that I don't love them, but they can be a little intimidating at times. But if you can get along with them, you are golden. So Kyle was supposed to come to my house and get me at like 7pm and then we would go get dinner and then go to an 8:30pm movie of Splice. Well, he ended up getting lost and then got to my house late. We went to Applebee's for dinner and then ended up going to see Get Him to the Greek instead. The movie was absolutely hysterical! I was dying! We ended up holding hands through the last half of the movie and held hands as we left the theater and went to his car. We sat there for a bit and chatted and made out a little but before heading back to my house.
Once there in my driveway we honestly had our first real make-out session that seriously lasted for over an hour. It was fantastic. I haven't made out in a long time and it was great and let's just say I was extremely happy with everything. All those nerves vanished and I lived in the moment. Bliss. Eventually we parted ways and I went in to my house where everyone was sleeping. I hope they didn't hear the car horn when Kyle accidentally sat on his key remote. If anyone looked they wouldn't have seen anything anyways since we had successfully fogged up the car windows!
Once back in the house I said hi to my puppy and then went to get ready for bed. That's when I noticed my neck. No lie, it looks like a vampire without fangs went bonkers. I don't know how much is going to show tomorrow but it will make for a very interesting topic of conversation. At least it isn't super noticeable, but it is when my head is tilted up!
Tomorrow I get to hang with Jocelyn all day and give her details. If she reads this before I see her then she will have a basic idea. Oh yeah. Tonight was definitely amazing and if I am not busy I am going to see Kyle on Thursday. We will see!

I Think My Neighbor Might Be a Stalker
For some reason I have the wonderful habit of finding the WORST men in the world. Or my neighborhood for that matter. I have officially come to the conclusion that my neighbor is a stalker. I just that he was a little perv at first, but now he has claimed a new title: The Stalker. Here is the story.
I was sitting at my computer last night, glaring at my editing and willing something, anything to come to me so I could put it down, but alas the creative inspiration came in spits and spurts. While I was doing this I get a message through my facebook chat. From my neighbor. Oh great. Here we go again. So we chatted for a bit and he was apologizing for everything that other night and then proceeded to tell me that I should still come over and have sex with him. Sigh. This never ends. I don't understand what it is about me, but I attract these kinds of guys ALL the time. Not fun, let me tell you. I have decided that my boobs are the problem. Yes, I know that sounds funny but I think they are the cause. Let's just say there are a lot of prettier girls out there than me and I seem to be the one with the most problems. Seeing as some random older guy smiled lewdly at me while I was at the gym, I believe this is the case. Anywho, back to my story. He sits there and talks to me. For HOURS. Oh yes. He wants me to do all this stuff to him and keeps telling me all the stuff he wants to do to me. Just wonderful, huh? He then wanted a picture of me. I told him there were plenty on facebook. No. He wants one that I just took of myself. Yeah, no. He can look at facebook. I'm not working at this. I want him to go away and leave me alone. Which, I can tell you now, isn't going to happen anytime soon. This is also because I am an idiot. Here is why I am an idiot.
I gave him my cell phone number.
Probably not the smartest thing I've ever done. But not the stupidest thing I've done either. I have indeed done worse. And now that this kid has my number, he won't leave me alone. I ignore him half the time but seriously this is all such a turn-off. I seriously want to tell him that he is bugging the hell out of me and really needs to leave me alone before I strangle him with his own shirt. I am hoping that at some point he will tire of the chase and give up and trying to get with me. It would make life a lot better for me. I should really learn how to be an asshole. It would just work better for me in the long run.

Weekend Warrior
Once again I have reached the end of the weekend and look into the face of the oncoming week which is proving to be especially busy. Oh well, at least it keeps me active. I just have to remind myself that this week I am going to make it to the gym every day. I am determined. This is what my schedule looks like so far:
Monday: Branford Hall to tell them I am holding off on coming to school, gym and possibly writers group
Tuesday: Gym, seeing Kyle in the evening and possibly other shenanigans.
Wednesday: gym and driving up to spend the day at UCONN with Jocelyn
Thursday: gym and hanging with Jen
Friday: Taking Mom to her colonoscopy, gym and ikea.
Yup. Busy week indeed and then possibly hanging with Jeanette and/or Alex on the weekend. Where has my life gone? Oh well. I love being social and having things to do. I just have to fit the horses in with all of this mess as well. I am sure I will manage. I am very good at doing that. Gail wants me to show this season with my horse. My sister thinks we will do great. I am not so sure. I will have to talk to her when she comes back from dropping off horses in Florida.
Today, when I woke up, guess what I saw first thing on facebook? Mike is now single again. I told you it wasn't going to last long. Never does with him. It's probably why he contacted me out of the blue. I haven't heard from him since and I am still on my guard about it all so we will see what happens this week with that. I have a feeling he will contact me again and I will still be wary and guarded as always because I can't allow myself to be open again. It would just be too much because we all know it's going to end badly again.
Other than working on my counted cross stitch, being addicted to my book and sitting up till 3:15am last night working on editing one of my finished stories, that's about it.

I Smell Like an Italian Sandwich
"Someone hit me in the arm with a jar of olives. I smell like an Italian sandwich."
~Under the Dome by Stephen King~
~Under the Dome by Stephen King~
Those were the words I read at around 2am yesterday (or technically today) and I had to contain my laughter so I didn't wake anyone. Stephen King definitely has a way with his novels that I wish I could channel. In reading back over some of my stuff I seriously wonder if my writing is any good, but I won't give up. It's my passion and I am going to try and make something of it.
Last night I left off by going out to West Hartford to pick up my friend Alex Moura and then go to Blue Back Square for a few drinks and to catch up. During the school year I probably saw him at least a couple times a week and usually at the gym or when we were coming/going to the gym. So not seeing him at all in almost a month is weird. So when he asked if I wanted to go out for a little bit I jumped at the chance. Why not? He's one of my best friends and I have such a good time with him. And we did indeed have a good time. We were out for almost three hours. We first grabbed a drink out on a patio of a restaurant and chatted about all kinds of things and school and jobs and significant others and all that jazz. Then we wandered off for a little bit and eventually made it to the Cheesecake Factory bar for another drink. The real funny thing is that the two of us called it a "casual date" and both of us totally hate the whole dinner date thing. Alex likes coffee dates, and actually I think I might like those too, but the causal drinks is good for me as well. And no matter how many times I go out for drinks with him, I am never nervous. Maybe because there's no pressure with him? Maybe because he is just a best friend and nothing more? I don't know. But the two of us have known each other for four years and are just really relaxed with each other. I like that aspect a lot.
We also ran into Jeanette for a little bit and chatted with her. The two of us are going to try and get together maybe next week or so because Reeni is busy and Jeanette is bored. I might also go out with Alex again. Why not? I like being social and it gets me out and about.
Today was pretty low key. I ended up taking my car back to town fair tire because my car was pulling to the left and then went to AC Moore to try and find new/different brand of 19 circular knitting needles because mine died and my blanket needs to be started over. Good thing I didn't have much done. At least I know the length is good! I didn't find the needles, but I got needles and yarn to try and make socks and I bought a counted cross-stitch. My first one ever. So far it's pretty good. Tedious but it keeps me focused really well. England and the USA tied in the FIFA world cup soccer game today and I didn't hear from Mike which is good, but I am still wary. Kyle is texting me now and I am thinking about attacking some creative writing editing right now. Might as well give it a go!

How Can We Expect the Unexpected?
Expect the unexpected. That's how the saying goes. But I don't really understand it at all. How can we expect the unexpected? Doesn't that pretty much mean that unexpected is expected? I don't know. Well, aside from that I think the things that you least expect end up happening and surprise you anyways. Just when you let your guard down you find that something sneaks up on you. That's what just happened to me.
I was sitting here at my computer, minding my own business and waiting for Alex Moura to text me back to see if we were still getting together tonight when all of a sudden I get an instant message. From Mike. Talk about unexpected. I thought I would probably never hear from the kid again and just when I let my guard down and get comfortable he suddenly jumps right out and says hello. Well, I sat here in shock for a few moments staring at the computer screen debating whether I should send something back or not. I eventually did. It was a small conversation and I kept my messages short and simple. I don't need to let him know that I am still pining over him. That's no good at all. I don't want to instantly forgive him, or forgive him ever because of all the crap he has put me through. But if he wants to talk again, fine. But distance for me is key. If I don't see him or talk to him all that often I will be better off. Sigh. This is what happens when I let my guard down.
Oh well. Looks like I am heading to West Hartford now.

Cavalia
Cavalia was absolutely amazing!! It took forever to get to New Jersey where it was being held, and the traffic was awful, not to mention it was raining. But we got there and we got to our seats well before the show started. I wasn't really sure what to expect but everyone was telling us that it was like Cirque du Soliel with horses. And indeed that's what it was. I have never been so mesmerized by something in my entire life. I just couldn't look away from it.
It is so hard to describe what I saw because I really can't. There are just no words that could possibly do it justice. And since I can't I will include some pictures that may help you with it.

See what I mean? That's why I'll let the pictures speak for me. It was just incredible. And after the show we got to go into the barn tent and see the horses that were used in the show. They have about 60 of them and they are all male horses. It was so cool! We didn't get home until 2am but it was so worth it. Did you know there was a line at McDonald's at 2am? Yes there is!
Today was nothing of note except I got my tires on my car changed and my sister bought a beta fish and named him Alejandro. Yup. My sister is amazing!

Why Does This Happen to Me?!?!?!?!
Seriously, I really wonder. Do I have a sign on me or something? Do I give off some sort of smell that's enticing? I don't know. I wish I had the answers. I was getting ready to leave for New Jersey to go see Cavalia with a group of people from the barn. The head of the City Slicker Program got us tickets to see this show and invited us along. So, I was getting ready and doing what I always do, when I get an facebook chat message through my AIM. So I pull it up to see who it was and saw to my greatest confusion and curiosity that my neighbor Matt had poked me. Now, I haven't talked to Matt in probably six years or so and haven't hung out with him since probably elementary school. A very long time. Why is he messaging me? So we were chatting a bit (all the while I am itching to know what is the motive behind all of this). It came all too soon. Suddenly he was like "hear me out, but I was wondering if you would have sex with me." He said more but that was pretty much it. I was like EHHHH??? I have not seen or heard from this kid in forever and here he is asking me to have sex with him. Seriously, do I have a sign that says "I want to have sex" or do I look like a girl who wants to sleep with everyone? I was shocked to say the least. I wasn't mean to him. I put him down as gently as possible. But you know guys. They never give up. He was trying to get me to come over to his place right that minute, but I told him I had just taken a shower and waiting for my friends. He told me that it was okay because we could have a shower together. Oh my. He also said that he was always available for an all day event. Double oh my. I don't know what to say. It was just so shocking.
According to my friend Erica I shouldn't be creeped out but I should be flattered since I am a pretty. She told me most of my guy friends probably have the same thought as well. Actually she told me all guys were like that and she gets people trying to hook up with her all the time as well. I dunno. It still seems pretty weird. And apparently he has been thinking about having sex with me for a couple years now. I thought the kid from high school asking for that was bad enough. But my 21 year old neighbor who I have known since 4th grade? Yeah....
Now I always wonder if he is watching me out of his window....

Oh Ikea, Why Do You Fail Me?
Today I took a trip with my friend (big sis) Erica to Ikea all the way out in New Haven (I believe it's somewhere around there). I was going to look for some wall storage and pretty much knew what I was looking for. I wanted a bookcase structure that I could either stick books or little boxes and baskets. I have never been to Ikea before so I was very excited. Well, it ended up taking a hell of a lot longer to get there than we imagined. Someone got into an accident on 91 and two right lanes were closed. I have never see so much traffic. We ended up going off an exit and went exploring for a while before getting back on the highway where there was no traffic. So annoying but we made it there. I don't know if any of you have been to the Ikea in Haven but you can see it right from 95. It's rather hard to miss.
This was without a doubt the coolest store in the entire world! When you get there you pick up a pencil, a card to write product information on and a tape measure. Then you go up the escalator to the second floor and start wandering through the building and all the display rooms that they have. You can test out the furniture, touch it and everything. When you find something you like, you write the information on the card. At the end you go pick up your items. The display rooms were amazing. Made me plan out my entire house (if I can ever afford one that is). The furniture is sturdy and well-designed and cheap. When I mean cheap, I mean cheap. The bookcase I found that I wanted was only $80. I was super excited. Once we finished upstairs we went down to the store place where we walked through and could pick out cups, plates, shelves, pillows, bedding, lamps, you name it. Once you wander through there you go into the warehouse to pick up your item. It's all disassembled so you can take it home right then and there. Makes things easier and cheaper. We get there to pick it up and they don't have it and another one isn't on order and they don't do special orders. I was very sad, but they told me to call the store and ask about it and such and check online. I figured that would be an awesome idea. So when I get home I look online and my bookshelf doesn't exist. I think they might have discontinued it. I am going to call them tomorrow and find out. If it is discontinued then I am going to see if I can get a discount on the show model. If not I am getting these other two bookshelves. One is really tall and one is shorter. I liked them too, but this other one was perfect. Oh well. That's my luck. I did get some amazing Swedish Meatballs at Ikea as well as Cinnamon buns. Did I mention they had amazing food? All in all, Ikea just became my favorite store of all time!
My room looks much better right now. I boxed up a bunch of stuff to go up into the attic and I can actually sit at my desk again and see a lot of the floor. I can actually walk across the room without having to step over twelve hundred different things. Things are looking up. I am rather happy with how it looks right now. I think this needs a celebration of video games!

Today I'm Fine Without You
"Yesterday was hell
Today I'm fine without you
Runaway this time without you
And all I ever thought you'd be
That face is tearing holes in me,
but today I'm fine without you
Runaway this time without you
And all the things you put me through
I'm holding on by letting go of you
And when that memory slips away
There'll be a better view from here
And only lonesome you remains
and just the thought of you I fear
grip falls away."

This song randomly popped on my itunes and I was just sort of half listening to it when I heard the lyrics. I look and really can say that I am fine without. I am fine without Mike. I don't catch myself looking for him all the time. I find myself looking for Kyle instead. I know he isn't Mike and can never replace all of the memories, but I want to make my own memories with him. I want to look back and laugh at all the goofy things we've done. We text every day without fail. And I find I am excited to hear from him more and more. Sure I had that dream about Mike a few nights ago, but it faded away like dreams do. I can still see his face and feel those tears roll down my cheeks, but I push it away. While Mike made me cry over and over again, Kyle doesn't. There is something about him that always makes me smile. I appreciate everything that he does for me and wish I could do more. I think my favorite lyric is that I am holding on by letting you go. It's pretty much the only way I do hold on anymore. I find myself doing everything under the sun and somehow I find the strength I need to keep going.
My room is definitely looking a lot better. I have to say that. Tomorrow I am going with my friend Erica (who is really like my big sister) to ikea to find wall storage!! I am excited because this is really going to help me with the last bit of the cleaning. At least that is what I am hoping. Slowly but surely. The windows come in on the 21st we believe. I just hope I have my room pretty (prettier) by then. We will see. Now to find my bed so I can curl up and read Stephen King for a while before passing out.

Is it a Dream or is it Real?
Have you ever had one of those dreams where you wake up, tangled in your sheets and wonder if what you just experienced was real or just all in your mind? You look around and try to piece together what you just experienced, but it slips away, like water through fingers. Dreams are slippery buggers. Many people don't have the fortune of remembering their dreams, and others are cursed to remember them all; good and bad. I am one of the latter. I sleep and I dream and I usually remember them all. This is one that I could have done without.
I was in a school. It was a strange school; not a college campus and not really a high school. It might have been a mix of both but for some reason the people there were all from Eastern. I recognized faces and friends. But at the same time some of my high school friends were thrown in there. I remember seeing my friend Kelly. She talked to me. Came up and said something. I can't remember what, but she did say something. Suddenly, someone else came up to me. I turned and found myself face to face with Mike. Of all people, why does he have to be the one to invade my dreams? He came up to me, and wanted to talk. Needed me to help me. I am mad and surly, but I agree. I don't know why, but I agree and we start walking down the stairs to the very bottom of this building we are in. We walk side by side, so close that we are touching. We get to the very bottom. We sit down at a table. There are people all around us, but I don't notice them. Mike hands me a note. He doesn't tell me what it is about. Before I open it, Scott (from Eastern) comes over and sits next to Mike and starts talking excitedly with him. It's funny. Mike and Scott (as far as I know) don't know each other. While they are talking I unfold the note. It's a numbered list. In my dream I could remember what the first two or three items said, but reading them was painful. My heart was breaking because they were about him an another girl. I got angry, tears pouring down my face as the words blur in front of me.
That's the last thing I remember.

City Slicker Horse Show and Poker Run
The last two days have been very busy so I apologize for the lack of update yesterday. I basically came home and collapsed in my bed. Yesterday was phenomenal and so well worth being exhausted!
Yesterday was the annual City Slicker Horse Show. Every year the City Slickers (which is a riding program for inner city kids) holds their end of the year show. This was the very first year that it was held at Lazy D Ranch. It also signified the one year anniversary of having moved to the brand new barn. The show started at 10am but my sister and I got there are around 8:45am. My job for the last two years has been to get the drill team riders all put together for pictures and such before the big event. Let's just say, as always, I was running around like a chicken without a head, sweating buckets as I am brushing, tacking up the horses, putting on boots, helping the riders find their saddles and clothing. It didn't help that it was so hot and humid out!! Somehow we managed to do it. I don't know how.
Pictures were taken and then everyone was hustled up to the ring to start the show. They had the singing of the American and Puerto Rican national anthems. Then they had a ceremony for Jose Rios. Jose passed away in December and it's been a struggle without him. The ceremony was moving and I found tears coming, but he would have wanted us to be out there having fun. After that the drill team did their thing and then it was time for the gymkannah. These are fun mounted games that take speed, stamina, strength and agility. And the rider has to be there working the entire time not to go off course. It was a lot of fun watching the riders and horses go around the barrels. I got some amazing pictures and Ruth (the head of the program) told me I was hired for next year to take pictures! After the games are done, the younger kids ride the horses in little fun classes and events. The drill team riders and other counselors are all out there with the kids and horses and escorting kids who need it and stuff like that. I was roped into running around as an escort and taking care of my horse since the little kids were using him. All in all it was a really good day. Long, but so amazing;y good.
Today was the Poker Run to help raise money for Jose's family. Pretty much it's where you ride your motorcycle (or car) from point to point. There are five points total and at each stop you pick a playing card and what you pulled is recorded. The object is by the fifth stop to make a poker hand from the cards you picked. It's a lot of fun and its very scenic and pretty and hanging around with motorcyclists is pretty amazing! The last stop was a restaurant that a woman from the barn owns and there was a big party with food, drinks and raffle prizes. A lot of people turned out and everyone had a great time. All the proceeds go straight to Jose's family. It's such a great thing! According to some of the motorcyclists I befriended, they do these kind of runs every weekend for charity. I didn't know that but it's so amazing! Gail (my riding instructor) was pretty much the one who organized most of it and such and she was just so happy to see so many people out there supporting, motorcyclists and barn friends alike.
Tomorrow is back to cleaning my room aka WWIII according to my mom.

I've Been Up 12 Hours and Spent 11 at the Barn
My little sister definitely had an adventure today. She ended up getting up at 6am and going to the barn because she was going with Kim (who is the barn owner) to the vet to get Beau's feet x-rayed. She pretty much spent all day at the barn and didn't get home till almost 9pm. When we saw her, she stated that she had been up for about twelve hours and she had spent eleven of those at the barn. Oh well. At least we know she is dedicated. The vet apparently was really nice and they found out that he has Navicular disease in his front feet, which is common in his breed. So they did all kinds of stuff and injected his feet. He's all wrapped up and has to stay in his stall for 3 days then he can go out for 3 days and then he can get worked again. They also believe he has a genetic disorder and he doesn't absorb certain foods or something properly. So they are changing his food which will hopefully help him gain weight and such. It wasn't the greatest news ever, but it was horrendous and he will be able to be ridden and stuff like normal again.
I spent most of the day at home being a bum before going to get my hair done. I redid my red highlights in a darker color and put a lot more in. They look amazing! I am so happy with them. My mom didn't seem phased by he whole thing so I was okay with that.
Tonight was also the dress rehearsal for the City Slicker Show tomorrow morning. Every year they have a year end show and the kids show off to their parents all that they learned. My horse is being used in three different classes and my sister and I are helping get the drill team up and organized for pictures and such. While Ali is in charge of Grady I will be taking pictures of the whole thing. That reminds me. I have to get my camera charger out of my car and charge my batteries for tomorrow. I am hoping everything goes according to plan and that the weather holds out for us for the show.

It's Okay! I'm on Pumpkin Delight Road!
Today I went to the beach with Amber and Jocelyn, who are two of my best friends. The three of us have been in need of a beach day for a long long time and today was when we decided to finally make that happen. Unfortunately, the weather was not behaving for us. On our way down we were looking up at the sky and wondering what happened to the sun. They said there was supposed to be thunder storms and stuff, but not until later. So what do the three of us do? Go to the beach! Getting there was so much fun. My GPS decided the be a jerk and take me on the strangest route to the Silver Sands Park in Milford. We drove around on Pumpkin Delight Road, which made me very happy for a while before I started to scream profanities at my GPS. Oh the joys of driving with me!
We eventually made it to the beach and low and behold the sun came out and it was beautiful!! We had an amazing time chatting, plotting summer road trips to Florida, the boys as well as tanning and beach combing for some truly spectacular shells. We were out there for quite a while on our quiet Corona beach with the water and the wildlife. That's when we heard it. Thunder. Faint rumbles. The sky still looked okay so we decided to keep an eye on it and stay out. Thunder kept rumbling and the sky got darker and darker. And then the phone calls saying the storm was coming. Yet we waited. Maybe it would blow by. The clouds grew darker and the thunder grew louder. We packed up and the three of us booked it. None of us like thunder storms and being out in the open like that makes me very very nervous. We lucked out and made it to the car with no problems.
Driving to Naugatuck wasn't bad. We got some raindrops here and there, but nothing too bad. Then the sky got darker. And darker. And darker. Then came the raindrops. Big ones at first and then it was as if the entire sky just opened up and dumped a continuous swimming pool amount of water on us. Let me just say I have driven in lots of big storms. Lots and lots of them. I have been in some pretty interesting situations. Here are just a few.
1. Driving home from summer class in Vernon last year. Heading towards Hartford. Dark clouds and bolts of lightning. Okay. I know I am going to get hit. I am driving on 84 heading into Hartford. I am waiting for the storm to hit. The street lights go on because it's so dark. I snap a few pictures on my cell phone and actually catch a bolt of lightning, which scares the crap out of me. I get into Hartford on 84. I am waiting for the rain. The lightning is terrifying. I am shaking and clinging to the wheel in a death grip. The rain lets loose. I get into the tunnel. That's better. I come out the other side. I am now going 17 on 84 where the speed limit is like 50. My windshield wipers can't go any faster. My music is drowned out by the rain and thunder, which for me it is indeed loud.
2. Driving home from my old barn after a lesson. Around noontime. A strom had rolled over the barn and it was incredible. I decided that I should be okay with going home now because it passed. I was so wrong. I get a mile and a half down the road. It is raining like none other. Incredible lightning. Deafening thunder. I can't see. I do the only thing I can do. I pull in a golf course parking lot. I stop the car. The lightning is right over me. It's the flash bang thing. The rain is unrelenting. The road looks like a river. If that wasn't bad enough there is hail. Quarter-sized pieces of hail. Somehow in all of this I am on the phone with my mom telling her I think I am going to get struck by lightning and that my Dad's car (mine was at the auto body due to accident) was going to get destroyed from the hail. I have no idea how she heard me. I did what any sensible person would do. I turned and went back to the barn. Later I found out that I was smack dab in the middle of the purple spot on the radar. How do I get so lucky?
3. Driving to my old barn with my sister. Bad thunder storms afoot. Almost to the barn when it starts pouring. I can't see anything yet again and I wish my windshield wipers would move faster. We get to the barn and ride a river of water to the barn where my horse is in. We get down there. He's nowhere to be found. His paddock is empty and so is his stall. So I ran around in the pouring rain, violent lightning and deafening thunder looking for my baby. Guess where he was? Nice and dry in a stall in the back. He obviously didn't get his smarts from me.
Today was one of those priceless stories. We are on Route 8 and almost to the exit we need to take for Amber's house, when the rain dumps out of the sky. At first it isn't so bad. Then just to spite me it became even heavier. Now, Naugatuck is just like the rest of Connecticut. Hilly. Hills, monsoons and poor drainage equal raging rivers of water. I have never seen such water rushing down hills at my little car. I didn't think we would make it. We finally did and the rain let up. So we dashed for the house. We were almost there when it let loose again. Oh yes. What an amazing driving adventure.
We spent the next few hours laughing and chatting at Amber's house before Jocelyn and I took off for home. It was a great day. I got some color without burning, had an amazing time with my friends, and got some pretty amazing seashells. I just have to get my wallet from Jocelyn tomorrow since it is still in her bag.
Room cleaning update: Well, I had a slight mental break down over my room. I chatted with my mom for a bit and then we came up with a plan. Wall storage. Sounds like an awesome idea to me. I also ended up breaking BOTH of my closet doors. I then made my room an absolute mess, and then Ali helped me pick it up. Half of the room looks nice and there are lots of piles of things to go into the attic. It wasn't a total failure. My sister snapped a picture of me lying in the middle of the floor of my bombed out room. It's quite special. Facebook profile picture worthy!

Where's the Road? AHHHH!!!
Today has been one of those days where I have constantly been on the go. It started this morning with a riding lesson at 11am with my sister and our friend Shannon. We had a good time and did surprisingly well. I think I am slowly improving and so is my horse, which is very exciting indeed. I am so glad I have a trainer who is as dedicated as Gail is!! After that we headed home, picked up McDonalds (not my idea) and went home to eat and shower. Then it was off to the mall.
I won't lie I am always worried when I go to the Meriden Mall because Mike lives in Meriden and I am always expecting to run into him. I honestly might flip out on him if I ever do. But the mall was where my sister and I wanted to go. I wanted to pick up some more summer apparel since I really own nothing cute and summery. I ended up getting some nice shirts from Forever 21. I love that store so much! I also went shopping for bathing suits. Let's just say that was horrible. Nothing fit me. Okay. They did fit. Just not in the ta tas. No matter what I put on my girls were determined to escape. And support? Non-existent. Thank you for failing, Macy's. Sears has a Lands End department and I have my Malibu barbie bathing suit from there so I decided to go try there. And guess what? I left with yet another great fitting bathing suit. Yup. Land's End is the way to go!! Since I was in the mall, I needed to hit up Victoria's Secret and I got measured just to see. 38C? Nope. Not anymore. 38D. Lovely. No wonder I can't fit into anything. Let's just say, not a happy camper. And I know everybody loves them (especially the guys), but I don't. Try exercising and riding horses all the time. My girls are always in the way and I swear if I didn't were the correct bra they would come up and slap me in the face. And when it comes to clothing, NOTHING fits right. It's awful. Even if I had a bikini body, I would never be able to wear one because bikinis have NO support. NONE. Yup. Wonderful, huh? And I think all my back issues stem from the fact that my girls are far too big for my body size. Ugh. The one other great thing that came out of shopping was that I picked up some awesome books about writing and writing inspirations. I am very excited to look through them and put them to some good use.
After the mall we raced to the barn to check on Beau and stuff and then came home for dinner at like 9pm. It has been a long day, so I decided not to clean tonight, and tomorrow I am going to the beach in Milford with Jocelyn and Amber! I am super excited and want to see if I can tan some more. Or burn!

Pull Her Pants Down!
There were some incredibly insane thunderstorms today! I survived through two of them. I am not a big fan of thunderstorms. They scare me and I can get really edgy and such when they occur. The first one occurred when I was at home and in the shower. The thunder was so loud that I was waiting to get electrocuted or something. I was home alone to boot with the dog, so that would have been just peachy if I got struck by lightning. Someone would come home and find my charred naked body in the shower. Oh so wonderful! My poor dog was not a happy camper with the storms and ended up taking shelter on my bed, which he ended up drooling on. Oh well. I still love the stuffing out of him. The second storm I survived through was when I was out at the barn. Let's just say I have never seen so much rain come out of the sky. It was incredible! My horse had a puddle in his stall when the storm ended. Let's just say it the rain on the roof at the barn was so loud you could barely hear the person standing next to you! It was insane!
I went and visited my kids again today. It was fun to paint with them and surprise them with my presence. It makes me feel really good when they were excited for me to come back and sad for me to leave again. I hope to be seeing them next year with subbing and maybe with a teaching job there. I really am going to miss them, but that is all part of the job, I guess. I didn't spend the whole day there since I had to come home and go to the gym and the dentist.
Today was day two of room cleaning. I will admit that my room is getting better. Very very very slowly. It is a long, and miserable process but it has to be done. Today was the dresser. Now I can actually put my phone and glasses on it without knocking everything over. I also uncovered more floor today, found $50 for shopping tomorrow and ate some decidedly questionable chocolates. All in all, it was a typical room cleaning in my room. Tomorrow my goal is to uncover the north window. That will be very exciting indeed. Then I will move on to the west window and then the corner of doom. Yup. It should be interesting. I also found like twelve hundred different blank journals that people keep giving me. But now that I have found blogging I don't really need journals. Well, they could be story idea notebooks and such. I'll find something for them.
One final note. One of my new favorite shows is Wipeout on ABC. Let me tell you, it is the most amazing show! I cannot get enough of people wiping out and flipping and doing some incredible wipeouts. It was a two hour blind date special and I thought I was going to die I laughed so hard! One of the guys at one point yelled at his date to pull another girl's pants down. Yup. Amazing stuff!
